SMARTLinux Features

SMARTLinux safely boots modern UEFI and Legacy BIOS systems including Macintosh and PC servers, desktops, laptops, tablets and virtual machines and is the only distribution that includes the entire suite of ASR Data tools. Users and stakeholders of any skill level can intuitively preview, assess, acquire, authenticate and analyze storage devices, identify and recover deleted files, search filesystems, full text index document collections, search raw data, aggregate and inspect numerous types of metadata, search and carve data from unallocated space, document findings, share results and enable secure remote acquisition and collaboration and much more.

SMARTLinux is currently is available in two “flavors”. Both distributions are based on Ubuntu linux and both offer the same baseline software configuration, hardware support and capabilities.

SMARTLinux – Xenial

Provides a fast, stable lightweight environment ideally suited for use in the field to acquire, authenticate and preview servers, desktops, laptops, tablets and other devices.

SMARTLinux – Focal

Provides a powerful, extensible environment ideally suited for use in the lab on dedicated forensic workstations, cloud deployments and virtual machines.
